What does Quantus cost?
Quantus is currently free for all users during our British Columbia launch — unlimited applications and unlimited job posts. Once paid tiers go live, plans start at $9.99/month for tradespeople and $19.99/month for employers, with free tiers always available for lighter use. See the pricing page for the full tier breakdown.
When does Quantus launch?
We're targeting our British Columbia launch in 2026. We're also collecting waitlist signups from tradespeople and employers across Canada — if you're outside BC, you'll be the first to know when Quantus opens in your province.
What happens after I join the waitlist?
You'll get an email confirmation immediately. Then we'll email you again when Quantus opens up in your area — that's when you can finish your profile and start using the platform. Tradespeople go through credential verification at that point (we confirm Red Seal or C of Q status with SkilledTradesBC and verify liability insurance with your broker). Employers can post jobs or browse tradespeople right away once we go live.
Who is Quantus for?
Quantus is for two groups: BC employers who hire tradespeople (general contractors, property managers, project owners, and small contracting businesses), and BC tradespeople who want to find steady work — sole-proprietor journeymen, registered apprentices, and certified specialists in any skilled trade.
Can I have both an employer and tradesperson account?
Yes. Some users wear both hats — small GCs who also do hands-on work, for example. You can hold both an employer and tradesperson account on a single login. When paid tiers go live, you'll be able to bundle both Standard subscriptions for $24.99/month — $5 off compared to subscribing separately.
What trades does Quantus cover?
We cover 24 skilled trades across BC including electricians, plumbers, carpenters, HVAC technicians, welders, roofers, ironworkers, millwrights, and more. See our full trades list.
Is Quantus available outside Metro Vancouver?
Yes. Quantus launches across British Columbia — Metro Vancouver, Vancouver Island, the Fraser Valley, the Okanagan, the Interior, and Northern BC. Join the waitlist and we'll notify you when we go live in your region.
What if I am a tradesperson outside BC?
Quantus launches in British Columbia first, but we're collecting waitlist signups from tradespeople and employers across Canada. If you're outside BC, you'll be the first to know when Quantus expands to your province — and your waitlist signup helps us prioritize which provinces to roll out to next.
Can apprentices join Quantus?
Yes. Registered apprentices with SkilledTradesBC can join Quantus, and their apprentice level is shown to employers. Apprentices work under journeyman supervision — employers specify whether they need journeymen only or are open to working with apprentices on a given job.
Do I need liability insurance to join?
Liability insurance is required to apply for jobs on Quantus. You can join the waitlist without it, but you will need active liability insurance before applying once we launch. We confirm coverage and limits directly with your broker as part of verification.
Do I need to be incorporated to join as a tradesperson?
No. Sole proprietors are welcome on Quantus — most of our tradespeople are sole proprietors. To apply for jobs once we launch, you'll need your trade certification (Red Seal, provincial Certificate of Qualification, or registered apprentice status) and active liability insurance. That's it. No incorporation or business number required to use the platform.
What if my certification is from another province?
Red Seal endorsement is recognized nationally — if you hold a Red Seal, your certification is recognized in BC regardless of where it was issued. Provincial Certificates of Qualification from other provinces are verified against the issuing province's equivalent registry, and may need a BC equivalency depending on the trade. Reach out via the contact form if you have a specific situation and we can confirm what verification looks like for you.
What is Quantus?
Quantus is a direct trades marketplace for British Columbia. We connect verified, insured tradespeople with employers — general contractors, property managers, project owners, and small contracting businesses — who need skilled trades workers. No staffing agencies, no placement fees, no per-contract cuts.
How does Quantus verify tradespeople?
Quantus verifies three things for every tradesperson before they can apply to jobs. We verify trade certifications (Red Seal Certificates of Qualification, provincial C of Q designations, and registered apprentice status) against the SkilledTradesBC registry. We confirm liability insurance and coverage limits directly with the broker. And we verify WorkSafeBC coverage status by obtaining a clearance letter directly from WorkSafeBC at the time of onboarding. Employers can optionally request a fresh clearance letter immediately before a job starts if they want point-in-time confirmation.
Does Quantus verify Red Seal certification?
Yes. Quantus verifies Red Seal and provincial Certificate of Qualification status against the SkilledTradesBC public registry before tradespeople can apply to jobs. Registered apprentices are also verified through SkilledTradesBC.
How does Quantus handle WorkSafeBC requirements?
Tradespeople provide their WorkSafeBC information during onboarding, and Quantus obtains a clearance letter directly from WorkSafeBC to verify their coverage status (mandatory coverage, Personal Optional Protection, or none). Employers see the verified status on every profile before reaching out. Since WorkSafeBC clearance status can change over time, employers can also request a fresh clearance letter immediately before a job starts if they want point-in-time confirmation for that specific engagement.
What's the difference between Quantus and a staffing agency?
Staffing agencies place workers and take a 20–30% cut of every contract. Quantus is a marketplace — we charge flat subscriptions and stay out of contracts entirely. Tradespeople and employers negotiate rates directly, and what you agree on is between you. We never see, touch, or take a share of the money that changes hands.
Is Quantus an agency or a job board?
Neither. Agencies place workers and take a cut. Job boards list postings and leave verification to you. Quantus is a marketplace — we verify trade certifications and liability insurance before tradespeople can apply, but we don't manage the relationship, take a cut of contracts, or place workers. The contract, payment, and project management are between the two sides.
Does Quantus charge a placement fee?
No. Quantus charges flat subscriptions only — we never take a percentage of contracts or any per-placement fee. Whatever you negotiate stays between you and the other party.
Is my data safe? Where is it stored?
Quantus is built in BC and compliant with PIPEDA (the federal privacy law) and PIPA (BC's provincial privacy law). The information you share with us is stored in Canada. We collect only what we need to operate the platform, and we never sell user data. See our privacy policy for the full details.
